18 kilometer power line connecting Chavuma District completed

     

Solwezi, February 25, 2014 , ZANIS —  The eighteen kilometer (18 KM) power line connecting the West bank from Chavuma Boma under the rural electrification program has been completed.

 

The power line which was constructed at a total cost of K 7.2 million has connected all government institutions up to Kabuja area on the West Bank of the district.

 

ZANIS reports that District commissioner Lawrence Kayumba confirmed the development in an interview today.

 

Mr. Kayumba said the programme is 100 per cent complete and is waiting for commissioning.

Chavuma district has been receiving thermo power supply since it attained its district status in 1996

 

Mr. Kayumba said the completion of the project will reduce costs of transmitting thermo power supply to the West bank.
