Chipopolo striker James Chamanga is a big doubt for Zambia’s friendly against Uganda on March 5, 2014 at the Levy Mwanawasa stadium in Ndola.

And 26 local based players yesternight entered the residential camp in Ndola ahead of the international friendly match against Uganda.

Chamanga, who plays for the Chinese super league club Liaoning Whowin, said he was still undergoing rehabilitation for the knee injury he picked last season.

ZANIS Sports reports that Chamanga told that he expects only to commence training at his Chinese team in the next three weeks.

Chamanga is among the 16 foreign based players that Coach Patrice Beaumelle has summoned for next Wednesday friendly against the cranes of Uganda in Ndola.

Chamanga’s absence is likely to be the second after striker Jacob Mulenga, who despite being called to camp by Beaumelle, is still on a three months injury lay off at his Dutch club FC Utrecht.

And the 26 local players which Beaumelle called to camp have grouped in Ndola ahead of the international friendly and will be joined by the 16 foreign based players during the week.

Meanwhile, Mamelodi Sundowns have loaned Zambian defender Hichani Himoonde and Togolese defender Emmanuel Mathias to ZESCO United.

ZESCO United spokesperson Chengo Katebe confirmed the development to ZANIS sports in Lusaka today.

Katebe said ZESCO signed Himoonde and Mathias on a six months loan.
