Seven KCM miners injured
Lusaka, February 21st, 2014, ZANIS —- Seven miners have been injured regrets to announce an incident at the Konkola Deep Mining Project (KDMP) in Chililabombwe District, today.
According to a statement signed by the company’s spokesperson Shapi Schacinda, the accident took place about 07:15 hours , today.
A cage tripped and during this incident seven people have been injured in the cage. One of them is in a critical condition in the ICU at the Konkola Mine Hospital in Chililabombwe, read the statement in part.
Mr. Shacinda said a medical team is conducting further examinations on the other miners , who were rushed to hospital by a rescue team.
Production has been temporarily suspended and investigations commenced to determine the cause of the incident, he said.
