Mamelodi Sundowns have reportedly signed Zambia international defender Hichani Himonde from Congolese club, Tp Mazembe

According to reports in Zambia, the 27-year-old defender completed his move to The Brazilians this week and has already arrived in South Africa. Sundowns are said to have bought him for an undisclosed fee.

“The move was completed this afternoon after undergoing two medicals at the club, one on Monday and another on Tuesday this week.

“I have signed a two year and five month contract with Sundowns,” Himonde told the ZamFoot website.

It was also revealed that the Ndola-born player will be sent out on loan to Absa premiership side Lamontville Golden Arrowns as the The Brazilians have exceeded their foreign quota. Sundowns already have other Zambia internationals in Mukuka Mulenga and Kennedy Mweene in their books, along with other foreign players.

“I am expected to play my first game in two weeks time and I am looking forward to regaining my top form. I am happy to be joining Sundowns, I have enjoyed some very good football at Mazembe, but the time has come for a new challenge,” he added.
