The Barotse Royal Establishement (BRE) has commended government for successfully constructing a police station in Mwandi disrict in Western Province.

Speaking when Home Affairs Minister, Ngosa Simbyakula ,paid a call on the Kuuta in Mongu today, Induna Inete ( Akapewa Silumbu) said the BRE shares government’s interest of promoting and maintaining  peace and unity in the country.

Induna Inete said there is need for the gesture to be replicated in all the newly created districts in the province.

He further appealed to the Ministry of Home Affairs through the provincial police office to consider putting up a police station in Limulunga and Lealui royal villages.

In response, Dr Simbyakula assured the BRE that government is committed to improving infrastructure in Western Province.

The minister told the Kuuta that government has already awarded a contract to Kamunge Enterprise for the construction of a police station in Limulunga, adding that works will begin soon.
