Govt rehabilitates cattle breeding centre

—-Government, through the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, has embarked on rehabilitation of   Mwase Livestock Breeding Centre at a total cost of K174, 000=000.

Muchiladozo Contractor, Director, Hillback Lukhado, disclosed this when Lundazi District Commissioner, Janet Mvula, visited the project.

Mr Lukhado stated that the contract was awarded last week and rehabilitation work is expected to be completed within four weeks.

Mr Lukhado disclosed that government had already paid him K32,000=00 as down payment  for work which includes mending of cracked floors, flooring, painting and roofing.

He has since expressed happiness that contract has been awarded to a local contractor, adding that the project  has  since created jobs to youths in the district and promised to do the best.

And Lundazi District Commissioner, Janet Mvula, has stated that the Patriotic Front [PF] government was committed to empowering local contractors by awarding them contracts and subsequently creating jobs to Zambians.

Ms Mvula has since urged Muchiladozo Contractor to be committed not to do poor work but quality work, if government was to continue awarding contracts to Local Contractors and create jobs to Youths in Zambia.

Meanwhile Lundazi District Agriculture Co-coordinator, Philemon Lungu, has indicated that the district is expected to receive 50 heifers,   and two bulls to improve both quality of meat and milk production in chief Mwase areas.
