The Patriotic Front in Eastern Province has castigated Grant Coalition for Civil Society Organizations for what it terms unwarranted attacks on government over the Constitution making process.

Austin Lungu, who is member of the PF mobilization committee, said the statement issued by the Coalition Organization that Government has failed to deliver a people-driven constitution is misleading as the PF government is committed to deliver the constitution.

Mr Lungu stated that the government has only been in office for two years and has made progress in the formulation of the Zambian Constitution.

He said there is need for patience among Zambian people as the government is committed to   to deliver a people-driven constitution to the people of Zambia.

Mr Lungu accused some Civil Society Organizations of trying to satisfy their selfish interests and appealed to the Zambian people to trust the Government to deliver a constitution that will stand the test of time.

He said the PF Government will deliver promises made prior to the 2011 general election, saying this can be witnessed by the unprecedented developments taking place in various parts of the country.

The Grand Coalition for the Constitution is a body which includes religious bodies, political parties, CSOs, student movement and activists who are demanding the immediate release of the constitution to Zambians.
