—-A 52-year-old man of Chief Kasoma Bangweulu’s area in Samfya District has been murdered by unknown persons.

Luapula Province Commissioner of Police, Malcolm Mulenga, disclosed the development to ZANIS in Mansa.

Mr Mulenga said Julius Mwila of Chalwe Kalima village in Chief Kasoma Bangweulu’s area in Samfya District was brutally murdered by unknown persons.

He disclosed that on December 26, 2013 around 07:00 hours, Samfya Police Station received a report of murder from Enerst Chibesa, aged 28 years of the same village.

The Police visited the scene of crime in which they found the body lying in a maize field about 200 meters away from the village.

Upon conducting physical body inspection, it was discovered that the deceased sustained deep cuts and fire burns on his stomach.

The Police Commissioner said the body was transferred to Mansa General Hospital and post-mortem was conducted on December 30, 2013 and the doctor did not determine the cause of death.

Due to this reason samples such as kidney, blood and intestines were collected for toxicology analysis to be done either in Lusaka or Copperbelt.

Meanwhile the family of the deceased was told to go ahead with the burial arrangements.
