Defiler uncle nabbed

–Police in Kalomo have arrested an 18 year old man of Mukwela village for allegedly defiling his seven year old niece last week in Chief Sipatunyana’s area.

Both police sources and relatives to the minor confirmed the development saying the incident happened on January 3, 2014 when the uncle was reported to have had carnal knowledge with the named girl.

The suspect is to appear in court soon.

And in another development, thieves on the New Years day night broke in Mukwela storage sheds and got away with 39 by 50 kilogramme bags of top dressing Urea fertilizer meant for farmers in the ongoing distribution of this farming seasons’ government sponsored Farmers Input Support Programme (FISP).

Police sources confirmed the incident  to ZANIS adding  that two guards who were manning the sheds have since been picked to assist with investigations of the missing bags of the agro inputs valued at K7,800.

The inputs were under the custody of Nyiombo Investiments while the district is expected to get over 30,000 packs under FISP.

Government has contracted both Nyiombo and Neira Investiments to supply 42 metric tonnes of top dressing fertilizers to districts that were earmarked to get their inputs through the abandoned   e-voucher system which Kalomo was one of them.

Agriculture and Livestock Deputy Minister, Luxon Kazabu disclosed recently.

And four suspects who are alleged to have stolen two bulls on January 1, valued at K12, 000 from Conrad farm have been nabbed by Police and would appear in court soon.
