Opposition Movement for Multi Party Democracy (MMD) President Nevers Mumba has observed that Zambia has experienced a dangerous reversal of fortunes gained over the past fifty years in relation to the International Image of the country under the Patriotic Front (PF) government.

Dr. Mumba says it is sad that Citizenry have witnessed no single state Visit of foreign head of State travels in the Country thereby reading of several diplomatic glitches each time the Head if State travels.

He notes that the continued diplomatic glitch will cost the Nation both economically and politically.

He adds that the recent diplomatic glitch when the Head of State chose not to attend Late President Nelson Mandela’s funeral in preference to going to Malambo and Vubwi to campaign during the period of mourning which himself had earlier declared is so unfortunate.

He further points out that to send Vice President Guy Scott who just a while ago insulted South Africans was mockery of unacceptable proportions.

Dr. Mumba therefore notes that the lack of sensitivity has injured Zambia’s International image hence noting that MMD in government will ensure that it repairs the broken image by exercising high levels of diplomatic etiquette.

The MMD Leader was speaking today at a Press Conference held at his Residence in Lusaka.
