Home Affairs Deputy Minister Stephen Kampyongo has warned upcoming police officers that the Patriotic Front (PF) Government will never support any criminal activities perpetuated by police officer at any rank, from constable to the Inspector General of Police.

Mr. Kampyongo has also charged that Government has high expectations from the police officers in the manner they execute their daily police obligations.

Mr. Kampyongo says as law enforcement officers, the duty of police officers to the Zambian people is to enforce the law.

He adds that Government does not expect any single police officer to change this status quo so that police officers now become law breakers when society expects them
to be role models.

Mr. Kampyongo has since directed police officers not to relent in finding the assassins behind the killings of eleven innocent people in Nakonde.

He has also appealed to the police to step up the efforts in the fight against GBV cases in the districts.

About seventeen people have been ruthlessly killed in Nakonde District of Muchinga Province in the last eleven months on suspicion of practicing witchcraft.
