11 injured in Masaiti crash

ELEVEN people sustained injuries when a bus they were travelling in overturned in Kafulafuta area in Masaiti District.

The accident happened yesterday around 11:00 hours after a bus belonging to Mbwee Motorways overturned.

The bus was on its way to Lusaka.

Acting Copperbelt Police Chief Joyce Kasosa confirmed the accident in an interview yesterday.

Ms Kasosa said 11 people had been injured.

She said four of those were rushed to Ndola Central Hospital while seven where rushed to a hospital in Kapiri-Mposhi.

“I don’t have all the details of the accident but what I know is that 11 people have been injured seriously,” Ms Kasosa said.

By Press time, it was not clear why the bus overturned.
