Government through the Ministry of Lands, Natural Resources and Environmental Protection has procured consultancy to develop a new and robust land information system dubbed the Zambia Integrated Land Management and Information System (ZILMIS).

Lands Minister, Harry Kalaba says this is to replace the current Land Information Management System (LIMS) which is unable to generate good statistics related to land utilization patterns and is prone to data manipulation.

Mr. Kalaba says the new information system will be operationalized in January 2014.

Mr. Kalaba says his ministry has also continued to register various properties throughout the country.

He reveals that so far, eighteen thousand two hundred and twenty title deeds have been issued from 1st January to 31st October, 2013.
