Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) has commended the people of Mansa central for the peaceful campaigns ahead of the 22nd November parliamentary by-election.

FDD president Edith Nawakwi has told Qfm news in a telephone interview that the prevailing conducive environment in Mansa has united all political parties participating in the by-election.

Ms. Nawakwi adds the people are already decided on whom to give their votes come polling day.

She also notes that outsiders are the ones that take violence to areas having by- elections, calling for an end to such kind of politics.

She says there is need for all political parties to embrace peace in order to create an atmosphere for fair and peaceful elections.

Ms. Nawakwi adds that political parties should always know that it is not necessary to fight when people are in need of food, medicines, fertilizer and shelter.

She has since expressed confidence that the FDD candidate Alfred Mwape will scoop the Mansa central seat.

The Mansa central seat fell vacant after the death of former Information Minister Kennedy Sakeni.
