Approval of the resettlement action plan dismays Action Aid fair green global project

Action Aid fair green global project has expressed shock at the approval of the resettlement action plan for the Musele community of north-western province before President Micheal Sata gives a go ahead to authorize First Quantum Minerals (FQM) to begin operations in Kalumbila.

Fair green global project Coordinator Mwiya Mwandawande says First Quantum Minerals are doing things without following the right procedure and the rules of the land.

Mr. Mwandawande has told QFM news that the residents of Kankonzhi area in Chiefs Musokanta and Musele of Solwezi in north western province have refused to move to their new allocated land until First Quantum Minerals pays their resettlement packages in full.

Mr. Mwandawande says Action Aid Green Global project has continued to engage with the affected communities and offer the relevant advice.

He adds that the residents are also appealing to President Micheal Sata to come to their aid so that they are not displaced before getting their resettlement packages from the mining company.
