In the first- of- its kind promotion, Airtel Networks Zambia has today (Nov. 6, 2013) launched yet another exciting promotion dubbed Zipezemo Mumahafu promotion and the Airtel Helicopter Traffic watch initiative.

Speaking during the launch event, Airtel Customer service Director Joseph Kafwariman said: “The promotion is a true demonstration of our mandate to give back to the community in which we operate and to offer innovative and affordable products and services to our loyal customers and the general public”

Kafwariman added that “Zipezemo Mumahafu” is a game-show based promotion which will run on MUVI TV daily for 90 days. Customers will stand a chance to win up to K20,000 at each of the 3 daily draws.

To participate customers should simply send an sms with the letters “WIN” to 4444. Each SMS sent gains them an entry in to the Daily draws and stand a chance to win a share of the  K1, 800,000.Each Sms is charged at K2” he added.

The drawn customer will be called live on TV and will then be asked to play the game by picking one of the three laid out on a table. Each card will have the prize money printed on the reverse side, which when picked, will be the prize money won.

There will be additional winners drawn for extra prizes of mobile phones, airtime and a chance to broadcast traffic watch from a helicopter.

Kafwariman added that the Airtel Helicopter traffic watch in partnership with QFM radio is aimed at increasing road safety awareness and provide live traffic updates covering a wider area.

Speaking during the Launch event. Road Transport and safety Agency (RTSA) Managing Director Mr. Zindaba Soko said that “One of the main functions of the RTSA is to support programs that focus on road traffic and safety management. “We are glad to note that Airtel has included an aspect of road traffic and safety education as one of the prizes for customers in the annual promotion. Lucky customers will have an opportunity to broadcast traffic watch live from a Helicopter”

Soko added that “RTSA highly commends such initiatives that are aimed at conducting Road safety education and assist in the dissemination of information on road safety for the benefit of the community. This initiative is in line with our mission of promoting road safety through education, Regulation and Law enforcement. I would like to remind all travelling members of the public to observe all traffic rules for their own safety particularly as we head towards the festive season.”
