PRESIDENT Michael Sata yesterday swore-in Livingstone Central Patriotic Front (PF) Member of Parliament (MP) Lawrence Evans as Tourism and Arts Deputy Minister.
Mr Sata also swore-in former Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) assistant director technical services, Wamunyima Muwana as Lusaka province permanent secretary.
Mr Evans has replaced David Phiri who lost his Mkaika seat during a recent by-election after he resigned from MMD to join the PF.
Mr Muwana on the other hand has replaced Brigadier General Emeldah Chola who was moved to the ministry of Agriculture and Livestock in the same capacity.
And speaking to journalists shortly after the swearing-in ceremony, Mr Evans said he would work to the best of his ability to promote the country’s tourism industry.
He said tourism was not only about Zambia focusing on the Victoria Falls because the country had so many other tourist attractions that needed to be promoted.
Mr Evans said he was confident that the Link Zambia 8000 road project would open up other tourism destinations for the country.
Mr Muwana, on the other hand, pledged to work hard and that he would join hands with other people who were already on the ground such as the provincial minister Philip Kosamu and his team.
