Dunamis church founder Daniel Pule has finally registered his new political party under the name Christian Democratic Party (CDP) following the rejection of his earlier proposed name of Jubilee party by government.

Apostle Pule announced his party’s new name in Lusaka today, whose symbol is a Dove in flight, with black, yellow and Green as party colors.

He says the new name for his political party is a better constituency for the Zambian people.

Meanwhile Apostle Pule has dismissed reports that Home Affairs Minister Edgar Lungu had earlier rejected his petition over his party’s name.

He says as an alternative he sought the Home Affairs Minister’s approval of the new name as a compromise.

Apostle Pule has pledged to objectively take advantage of every by-election held in order popularize the party to the Zambian people.

But National Revolution Party (NRP) president Cozmo Mumba has threatened to sue the Registrar of Societies for accepting to register Apostle Daniel Pule’s party which has a symbol similar to his party.

Dr. Mumba says it is unfortunate that the Registrar of Societies has authorized Apostle Pule to use a party Symbol that is already being used by another political party which is consistent.

He says it is imperative that the Registrar of Societies gives an explanation what criteria they used to allow two different political parties to use the same party symbol.

Dr. Mumba’s National Revolution Party symbol is a white flying dove and so is the Newly Formed Christian Democratic Party (CDP) which is under the Leadership of Apostle Pule.
