JASSY Singh is confident of winning the FIA Africa Rally Championship (ARC) title next weekend in Madagascar.
And Jassy’s Subaru Impreza was yesterday flown to Madagascar.
Jassy said in an interview from Johannesburg yesterday that he is ready for the challenge.
Uganda’s Jas Mangat is topping the ARC table with 83 points, two better than Jassy.
Reigning ARC king Muhammad Essa is trailing in fourth position with 50 points.
Rwanda’s Giancarlo Davite is third with 58 points while Page Eric of Ivory Coast is in fifth position with 25 points.
“I am feeling no pressure. Everything is under control. I am optimistic that I will come back with a trophy,” Jassy said.
He said he has done adequate preparations for the Madagascar International.
“I am overwhelmed with the support I am receiving. I have to work hard so that I don’t disappoint my fans,” he said.
Jassy is expected to leave for Madagascar today.
And Jassy’s father, Muna Singh, is upbeat his son will win his maiden ARC title.
“Whether he wins it or not, we will count that as a win. It is a huge success for him to compete in Madagascar because not even I myself during my time did  compete there. I wish him all the very best,” Singh said.
Singh won the African title twice while his uncle Satwant Singh won a record eight titles.
