POLICE in Central Province have arrested five men suspected to have brutally murdered a 44-year-old man of Kapiri Mposhi District.

Police deputy spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said Emmanuel Mwamba of unknown address was murdered on Sunday on suspicion that he had stolen some maize.
Mr Hamoonga identified the suspects as Jackson Banda, 23, Mumba Mumba, 25, Gilbert Mukalamba, 49, Makatwe Nkandu ,32, and Adoni Laisi, 26, all of Makafu area in Kapiri Mposhi.
He said all the five had been charged with murder.
And in Ndola, a man aged between 30 and 35 died on the spot after he was hit by a motor vehicle which was being driven by Makaliki Noole, 27, of house number 4, Kabwe Road.
The deceased had been identified only as Mugala and was hit by a Pajero Registration ACL 7849 along Kabwe Road near the T- junction at Fatima area in Ndola District yesterday.
Mr Hamoonga said Mr Noole had since been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
“That accident happened on October, this year when the pedestrian was crossing the road, hence was hit by an oncoming motor vehicle and died on the spot and his body was taken to Ndola Central Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem,” he said.
