Polish companies expected in the country

ABOUT 26 companies from Poland are next week expected in the country to participate in the Zambia-Poland Business Forum aimed at enhancing investment partnerships between the two countries.

The business forum, to be held on October 21, is being organised by Zambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry(ZACCI) in conjunction with the Zambia Development Agency, (ZDA) and the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency has attracted companies involved in mining, agriculture, construction and engineering.
Other sectors include manufacturing, transport, education and defence.
“The forum will be to allow Polish businesses to interact and explore business opportunities with Zambian businesses,”ZACCI says.
This is contained in an announcement issued by ZACCI in Lusaka yesterday.
Notable among the firms are URSUS S.A, involved in manufacturing and exporting tractors, manure spreaders, trailers, and fertiliser spreaders, NEWAG S.A involved in production, refurbishment and repair of rolling stock: diesel locomotives, electric locomotives and passenger coaches, and FEROCO S.A involved in construction and upgrading of railway lines and roads.
Others are FAMUR S.A involved in mining of oil and gas, and KGHM Polska Miedź, which owns one of the largest copper deposits in the world.
