United Party for National Development (UPND) President, Hakainde Hichilema, has urged the Patriotic Front (PF) government to seriously address the challenges that teachers are facing in the country especially those working in rural areas.

Mr. Hichilema has told QFM News in an interview that it is important that the government address the challenges the teachers have been facing because they contribute to the social economical development of this nation.

Mr. Hichilema adds that teachers play a cardinal role in building a nation because they are the custodians of knowledge which is imparted into citizens.

He states that the country%u2019s education system is not the best for various reasons and thus the need for government to take time and address these challenges the education sector is facing.

The UPND Leader further more states that governments have come and gone and teachers are still not being given the recognition they deserve.

He says teachers maybe have celebrated their day today, but there are few reasons for them to celebrate.
