GOVERNMENT has urged Saudi Arabian investors to explore various sectors of the Zambian economy in which they can invest.
Deputy Minister of Lands, Natural Resources and Environment Protection Danny Chingimbu said Zambia is in need of investment in its various sectors to help improve its economy.
Mr Chingimbu said this in Lusaka on Monday night when he officiated at celebrations of the Saudi Arabia National Day.
He said Saudi Arabian investors should consider investing in different economic sectors as a way of consolidating the long-term bilateral relations.
“Zambia-Saudi Arabia relations have been growing steadily. Zambia values its relations with the Royal Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
“We have to enhance the cordial relations so that we can improve the living standards of our people between the two countries,” Mr Chingimbu said.
He said Zambia is endowed with rich natural resources which need to be developed by investors to strengthen the economic muscle.
And Saudi Arabian ambassador to Zambia Hassan Attar pledged his country’s continued support to Zambia’s development agenda.
He also commended Zambia for practising “economic diplomacy” by co-operating with other countries.
Dr Attar also hoped the two countries would benefit from the co-operation, saying his government and private sector are eager to invest in Zambia.
