Southern African Centre for Constructive Resolution of Disputes (SACCORD) has strongly condemned the attack on UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema and entourage by Patriotic Front cadres in Kasama yesterday.

SACCORD Executive Director Boniface Cheembe has since reminded those in authority to know that all opposition leaders have the right to visit or pay courtesy calls on any traditional leader in the country.

Mr. Cheembe in an interview with QFM has demanded that the attack on the UPND leader be investigated and the culprits brought to book without any favors.

He stresses that there is need for all political parties to discipline their cadres if the country is to peacefully move forward.

He adds that violence will not solve the problems politicians are facing hence the need for all those inciting violence to be disciplined.

Mr. Cheembe has since appealed to all leaders to put aside their political differences and respect the real Zambian culture of allowing anyone to freely visit traditional leaders.
