Non Governmental Organization Coordinating Council (NGOCC) says if Zambia is adhering to the tenants of good governance there will be no need to reject the International Criminal Court (ICC) as is being advocated by Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba.

NGOCC board Chairperson Beatrice Grillo has told Qfm News that it is unfortunate for Mr Kabimba as Justice Minister to call on African countries to reject the International Criminal Court.

Mrs. Grillo says Mr.Kabimba’s call on other African countries does not portray a good picture of Zambia’s good governance.

She notes that the International Criminal Court represents the interests of individual countries.

She stresses that any country adhering to the tenets of good governance has nothing to fear about the ICC.

Mrs. Grillo says there is need for the Justice Minister to look back and be objective whenever he is bringing out such important issues.

Mr.Kabimba was last week quoted advocating for the African governments to reject the ICC stating that it was not established in good faith but merely meant to humiliate Africa leaders.

Mr. Kabimba who was speaking in his capacity as Council of African Political Parties (CAPP) president said his organization supports Kenya for pulling out of the ICC and that other African Countries should also be urged to follow suit.
