Main suspect in ex-MP’s murder arrested

POLICE have apprehended the prime suspect in the brutal murder in Kitwe of former Wusakile Member of Parliament (MP) Barnabas Chella.

Copperbelt Police Chief Joyce Kasosa confirmed the picking up of the prime suspect who was cornered in Solwezi in North Western Province.
The suspect was arrested on Wednesday and has since been taken back to Kitwe.
On Monday, 11 people, among them two women were rounded up in connection with the hacking to death of Mr Chella, bringing a total of those arrested to 15.
Three other suspects were apprehended earlier and were under guard at the Kitwe Central Hospital (KCH).
Ms Kasosa could however, not name the suspects as police were still carrying out investigations, adding that those detained have not yet been charged.
Mr Chella, 60, died on September 5, this year, after being axed over a land dispute at his farm in Mfubu ranch.
