Kazanga ceremony set for July 20

The Kazanga traditional ceremony of the Nkoya speaking people of Kaoma district in Western Province, which was postponed due to a bereavement in the Nkoya Royal Council, has been set for 20th July, 2013.

Kazanga Cultural Association National publicity secretary Raymond Kabindama said in a statement to ZANIS in Mongu that all participants should arrive in Kaoma on 19th July, 2013.

Mr. Kabindama said the ceremony will officially be start on Saturday 20th July and end the following day.

He added that well wishers were free to help in any way possible while organisers have been asked to step up their preparations.

The Kazanga traditional ceremony was initially scheduled to take place on 29th June 2013 but was postponed after the death of Edwin Nkomesha, who was the national chairperson for the Nkoya royal council.

He died a week before the ceremony.
