President Sata hailed for Chinsali District decree
Chipata, June 28th, ZANIS—Chinsali District Commissioner (DC) Evelyn Kangwa says the people of Chinsali are grateful to President Michel Sata for creating Chinsali as the Provincial Capital Of Muchinga Province.
Ms Kangwa said the creation of Muchinga as a new province and Chinsali as its capital was long overdue which she said the people of Chinsali will live to remember for many years.
ZANIS reports that the Chinsali District Commissioner said this in an interview in Lusaka, today.
Ms. Kangwa further praised the people of Chinsali for supplementing government’s efforts in ensuring that Chinsali attains its provincial capital status.
Chinsali District is among the several other new districts that President Sata and his administration has declared as respective districts under the PF policy of decentralisation of taking government closer to the people.
Meanwhile, Ms. Kanga said that the construction of the Chinsali/Kasama via Safwa road currently underway will open the district to various market destinations in the province.
Ms. Kangwa also disclosed that the site for the construction of the airport has already been indentified and the contractor will soon move on site to commence the construction works.
She added that the construction of houses for civil servants is progressing well and thanked all civil servants in the district for fully establishing themselves in the new provincial capital.
