The baby that was born of an 18-year- old mother with intestines wedged outside has died.
Mother of the baby, Gladys Sakala, who confirmed the death of her child to ZANIS, said the baby failed to pull through and eventually died around midnight.
Last Tuesday, Gladys, who was admitted to Chadiza District Hospital, gave birth through a caesarean operation to a baby girl whose intestines were lodged outside the body.
Efforts to get comments from the doctors at the heath institutions as to what might have caused the baby to be born with intestines wedged outside and what measures the hospital had put in place to save the baby failed as the doctors refused to talk to the press.
