The Luangwa District Conflict Management Committee has praised political parties participating in the Feira parliamentary by-election for conducting peaceful campaigns ahead of tomorrow’s voting.

And the committee has called on people of Feira constituency to turn up in big numbers and exercise their right to vote for a candidate of their choice.

Committee Vice Chairperson Keith Matimba said political campaigns ahead of the June 20 by-elections in Feira have been conducted smoothly without violating the electoral code of conduct.

Mr. Matimba said so far no reports of violence have been reported to the committee except for unconfirmed reports in Kavalamanja where the opposition National Restoration Party (NAREP) rally was allegedly interrupted because they had an old programme which was conflicting with programmes of other parties.

He said all parties participating in the b- elections had fair opportunities to deliver their campaign messages to the electorate without interference.

Mr. Matimba has since urged political parties to conduct themselves well during voting tomorrow so that they do not violate the electoral code of conduct.

Campaigns in Feira constituency by-elections close at 18:00 hours today while voting is expected to start at 06:00 hours tomorrow and end at 18:00 hours.
