A civic leader in Chama South constituency in Muchinga province has appealed to Zambians to support the Patriotic Front (PF) government in its quest to develop the country.
Lunzi Ward Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) Counselor John Nkowani said the PF government has designed development programmes which would help put Zambia on a higher economic ground if executed well.
Mr. Nkowani, who has been a councilor for the ward since 1987, said Zambians should therefore work with government in executing these development programmes.
He said in 1990, he defected from UNIP and joined the former ruling party, MMD, in order to work with government then.
And Mr. Nkowani has appealed to Zambians to champion peace in order for the country to develop economically and politically.
He said unity in the country was paramount and as such, politicians should embrace the philosophy the rule of reasoning.
