Nchelenge procures banana boats
Nchelenge , June 11, 2013, ZANIS…The Nchelenge district council in Luapula province has procured two banana boats at a cost of KR36,000.00
Nchelenge district council secretary Mabvuto Masiye has confirmed the development to ZANIS in an interview today.
Mr. Masiye said the boats have been procured using the 2012 constituency development funds (CDF) following the successful application by Kapema and Munkombwe communities north east of Nchelenge boma.
He said the two communities applied for the procurement of water transport in order to ease transport problems at the crossing points to facilitate the movement of people and transportation of their produce.
Mr Masiye said the two banana boats that are fitted with five horse power engines will go a long way in alleviating the travel problems that people are facing and the ferrying of farm produce at the crossing points.
