SINGER and songwriter Marsha Moyo has released her third studio album titled Vested in Love which features internationally acclaimed South African guitarist Jimmy Dludlu on Mr Man and Grammy winners Soweto Gospel Choir on Fullness of Time.
Like her previous releases, the debut Dark Child and the sophomore Fine Print, this is another of her must-have album.
There are a lot of look-forward songs on the 12-album album which opens with Share With Me and closes with Make it Happen, but this writer is going with Smart Woman, Foolish Choices. Other songs on the album are the title-track Vested In Love, Gut or Intuition, Everything About You, Spend Time Together, You Complete Me and The Fine Print (Nymo megamix) and Where Am I To Go Now.
Although this is Marshas third full studio album, in 2004, she released her epic song Women Celebrated, which pays homage to and captures the enduring essence of women throughout the world.
The song earned her two Kora All Africa Music Award nominations for Best Female Artiste – Southern Africa and Best African Video.
Her critically-acclaimed debut album, which one critic described as music that makes your mind move a classic example of what a true musician can do earned her a South Africa Music Awards (SAMA) nomination for Best African Artist, two Kora nominations for Best Female Artist-Southern Africa and Revelation of the Year for the racy pop Heavens Watching.
Her sophomore album earned her a National Arts Council of Zambia (NAC) Ngoma Award for Best vocal recording.
A former marketing services manager at Zambia Sugar, one of the largest blue chip companies in the country, she has always wanted to pursue her childhood dream of being in the entertainment industry.
That pursuit has seen her perform at FESPAM (Festival for Pan-Africa Music) in Congo Brazzaville, the opening of Arts Alive at Standard Bank Arena in Johannesburg and a three-month performance at Burj-al-arab Dubai, United Arab Emirates, which is the worlds only seven-star hotel.
An author of the publications Wheels of Change and Women Celebrated, she was also appointed as advocate for the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). This appointment saw her become the first-ever celebrity jointly appointed by all UN agencies in a single country and Zambias first UN honorary appointee.
