Handball tournament takes off this weekend
Lusaka, May 29, ZANIS ——–The semi final and finals of the Inter School Handball champion of champions tournament will take place this weekend at the Olympic Youth Development Center (OYDC) in Lusaka.
Handball Association of Zambia Marketing and Communications Manager Josab Changa has confirmed the development to ZANIS Sports in Lusaka today.
Changa said a total of 12 teams which comprises of 6 male and 6 females each will compete in the tournament which will be held under the theme “Handball for Passion, Health, Education and Fan”.
He explained that in the Boys final, Libala Basic School will battle it out with Northmead Secondary School while in the Girls final St Patrick Basic School will take on Northemead Secondary School.
Changa also named the teams that qualified to the semi finals in the female category as Kamwala Stars, Kasisi Dynamite, Lusaka Tigers and Mufulira Handball Club.
While in the male semi final category, the teams that qualified are Kamwala stars, Kasisi Dynamite, Lusaka Tigers and Lilanda Dynamos Handball Club.
Changa further called on the corporate world to come on board and render support to this lucrative tournament saying the support will go a long way in promoting the sport of Handball in the country.
