Shang’ombo residents urged to support Njeulu

—-A PF Central Committee member has lobbied Shangombo PF party officials to rally behind UPND Sinjembela Member of Parliament, Poniso Njeulu, in an event of a by-election. Addressing PF party officials at Shangombo district council, PF Labour and Social Development Chairman, Davies Mwila, said there is need for the party to be united and throw its weight behind Mr Njeulu, who is also Deputy Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services. Mr Mwila said it is important for the party officials to mobilise the party at grass root level and woo new members to join the PF. He said politics is about numbers, hence the need for the party to work flat-out and win more members. Mr Mwila said unity of the party is cardinal in winning new party members. He encouraged the current PF party officials in Shang’ombo district to accept new members wishing to join the party. Meanwhile, Mr Mwila has praised Shang’ombo PF party official for the warm reception accorded to the Central Committee members. He said the warm reception given to the Central Committee members is evidence enough to show that the party is strong in the district. Mr Mwila, who is also Deputy Minister of Defence, told the party officials not to relent in their efforts to win new members. He said the party will only be strong once the membership is improved in the district. Mr Mwila remained the party cadres that government will function better with a strong party membership. And PF Shang’ombo district acting chairman, Sililo Konga, appealed to the Central Committee members to consider assisting the party in the district with transport. He complained that the district is too wide for party officials to mobilise new members on foot. Mr Konga was optimistic that once transport is availed to the district it will be easy to carry out party functions in the district. However, he revealed to the Central Committee members that party membership has grown.
