Zambeef donates to ZSA for Midlands Squash Open

Lusaka, May 15/13 ZANIS—–Zambeef Zambia Plc has donated KR 13,000 to the Zambia Squash Association (ZSA) towards the hosting of the Midlands Squash Open slated for Lusaka Club this weekend.

And speaking when handing over the donation in Lusaka today, Zambeef Group Head of Public Relations, Sebastian Kopulande, said his company is proud to be associated with the game of squash.
Kopulande further said his company will remain committed to sponsor the game of squash so that it can be developed to the previous levels it was in the recent past.

And in receiving the donation ZSA president, Norena Muteba, thanked Zambeef for attaching great importance to supporting the game of squash in the country.

Muteba said the support received from Zambeef demonstrates the company’s commitment to support non-traditional sports disciplines in the country such as squash.

Meanwhile, Muteba has disclosed that her association has a shortfall of KR 10,000 out of the KR34, 000 budget required to successfully host this weekend’s tournament.

In an interview with ZANIS in Lusaka today, Muteba appealed to other cooperating partners to come on board and assist her association with the remaining funds so that it can successfully host this weekend’s Midlands Open.

Muteba said her association is keen to partner with many stakeholders so as to ensure that the development of squash in the country is enhanced.

This weekend’s Midlands tournament is expected to attract over 40 players both locally and internationally and is open to both and men women.

This is also the second competitive tournament of the year after the Zambia Junior Closed that was successfully hosted by Nkana Squash Club in Kitwe last month.
