Trade Kings Zambia Limited today donated washing soap to the University Teaching Hospital’s (UTH) mother’s shelter as part of its corporate social responsibility on international mother’s day.

Trade Kings Corporate Affairs Director Bright Chunga says women especially mothers play a crucial role in the development of people.

Dr Chunga said mothers teach individuals such virtues as care, sacrifice and respect of which are important tenets of human beings.

Dr Chunga said this in Lusaka today during the donation of several boxes of Boom washing powder which were received by Sister Esnelle Ngoma.

He said the move was in a bid to ease the burden of women who sacrifice a lot to take care of their families.

And Dr Chunga on behalf of Trade Kings has wished women in Zambia and the rest of the world a happy mother’s day.

Meanwhile, UTH Public Relations Manager Mwenya Mulenga said the hospital faced a lot of challenges in implementing several activities because of lack of funding.

Mr Mulenga said UTH being a public institution depended solely on government funding, leading to a lot of women at the hospital still lacking soap for washing and cleaning.

Mr Mulenga commended Trade Kings for the donation saying the donation will go a long way in filling the gap at the institution.

And the mother’s Chairperson Christine Chileshe, in a vote of thanks said the women will greatly benefit from the gesture as most of them had come from far places and faced some challenges in sustaining themselves at the hospital.
