Shaftex adheres to Kapeya’s directive, commences road works

Mpika Central Member of Parliament Mwansa Kapeya has disclosed that rehabilitation works of township roads in Mpika district have started following a two weeks ultimate he gave to Shaftex contractors to begin the works.

Mr. Kapeya told ZANIS today that Shaftex Company has abided by the directive and has since commenced the road works which are progressing well.

Mr. Kapeya, who is also Information and Broadcasting Deputy Minister, revealed that so far, the compacting of most roads in Mpika has been completed and the contractor will soon begin adding bitumen.

He further disclosed that the construction of drainages in the constituency have also reached an advanced stage.

He said he will soon visit his constituency to check on the progress of developmental projects which will include the township roads rehabilitation and the construction of a district hospital among others.

Mr. Kapeya said this is in order to ensure consistency in the projects.

And Mr. Kapeya has said the construction of the Mpika District Hospital has also begun and is making steady progressing.

Recently, Mr. Kapeya visited his constituency to check on progress of the township roads rehabilitation project which was commissioned in December last year but found that works had not begun.
