Anthill buries Kapiri man alive

-A 55-year-old man of Jim Chiba Village in chief Mukonchi’s area in Kapiri Mposhi district has died after an anthill collapsed on him.

 

Central Province Commissioner of Police, Standwell Lungu, confirmed the incident to ZANIS which happened yesterday around 14:00 hours and identified the deceased as Themba Moyo.

 

Mr Lungu said the incident happened when Mr Moyo was digging soil from the anthill for moulding bricks.

 

The police commissioner said the anthill collapsed after it curved-in and buried him alive. He died instantly.

 

The body of the deceased is lying in Kapiri Mposhi Urban Clinic mortuary awaiting burial.

 

Most people in Kapiri Mposhi are engaged in digging anthills’ soil which they mould bricks from and sell after baking them for building purposes.
