China’s top political advisor meets Zambian President

–China‘s top political advisor, Yu Zhengsheng, has called for enhanced bilateral cooperation between China and Zambia.

 

Speaking when he met visiting Zambian President, Michael Sata on Wednesday, Mr Yu also expressed his belief that bilateral cooperation will bring concrete benefits to both countries.

 

Mr Yu, who is Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), spoke highly of the friendship forged between the two nations.

 

This is contained in press statement released to the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) in Lusaka today by Special Assistant to the President for Press and Public Relations, George Chellah.

 

Mr Yu also briefed President Sata on China’s opening-up process and its political system.

 

He explained that CPPCC will intensify high-level exchanges with its Zambian counterparts and strengthen exchanges of experience regarding social and economic management in order to boost national development on both sides.

 

And President Michael Sata said Zambia cherishes its ties with China, as well as welcomes Chinese companies to step up their investment in the country.

 

Mr Sata added that Zambia wishes to expand cooperation with China in multiple fields.

 

The Zambian President is visiting China at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.

 

While in China, President Sata attended the annual Boao Forum for Asia Conference in South China’s Hainan Province on Sunday, where he gave a keynote speech.
