Kasempa roads to receive face-lift

Kasempa, March 21, ZANIS- Kasempa district council is this year expected to improve a stretch of 20 kilometers of township roads from gravel to bituminus.

Kasempa District Council Secretary Patson Kabopa said the institution has already completed conditional survey and submitted to the ministry of local government and housing  for further analysis.

Kapoba disclosed to ZANIS in an interview today that KR28 million has been allocated to the project of which KR5.6 million would be released under each phase.

He however could not disclose the exact date of commencement of the project as it  depends on when the local government  engineers would complete the preparations of the bill of quantities to advertise the contracts to the public.

“I can not say the date when the project will begin because engineers are still preparing BOQ and after finishing the public will be notified,” he said.

He further assured the public of government’s commitment towards providing quality services to the people .

Kasempa district has for many years not improved both urban and feeder roads, a situation which has posed a challenge in transporting goods.
