—-A senior Government official in Northern Province has urged the Christian community to continue praying for peace in the country.

Northern Province Permanent Secretary, Hlobota Nkhunika, says it is through prayer that Zambian can sustain its peace and stability.

Mr Nkhunika was speaking during the International Day of Prayer to mark the Women’s Day Week held at Pentecostal Assemblies of God in Kasama over the weekend.

And speaking at the same church service, a Kabwe-based clergyman said women have the ability to change the nation if they come together in prayer.

Apostle Casey Kalaso said the spirit that has befallen Zambia of child abused can be defeated through prayers.

Apostle Kalaso has since appealed to women to go down to their knees and pray for the whole nation.

He said Zambians can only overcome the spirit of child abuse as well as spouse battering through prayer.

The clergyman said there is no power that is greater than prayer, hence the need for everyone to rise to the challenge and bow down to pray.

Hundreds of Christians from different denominations in Kasama attended the church service.
