Government calls for partnership with business houses

Ndola, March 10, ZANIS —— Government has urged the business community to partner with it in order to change the face of the nation.

Labour and Social Security Minister Fackson Shamenda said this when he represented Republican Vice President Guy Scott at the Patriotic Front fundraising golf day at Ndola Golf club yesterday.

Mr Shamenda said the business community needed to partner with government in ensuring that the face of Ndola made a difference under the leadership of President Michael Sata.

The Minister however noted that sports was a unifying factor as it embraced people from different political parties and called on sports men in the country to teach politicians how to tolerate each other.

Mr Shamenda said Copperbelt province was the back born of the PF as the province voted overwhelmingly to put the ruling party into power.

He said it was for this reason that President Sata loved the people of the Copperbelt adding that the PF will remain grateful to them.

He also thanked PF under his constituency for coming up with the initiative of fundraising for smooth operations of the party and called on other districts in the country to emulate Ndola PF.

And PF Ndola District Chairperson George Chisulo said as a district, they were adhering to President Sata’s directive that the party will not be sustained using government resources.

Mr Chisulo said the PF in Ndola found it prudent to seek ways to sustain the operations of the party through fundraising ventures.

Mr Chisulo thanked the sponsors for partnering with the party and assured them that the money raised would be used transparently.

He said the purpose of the fundraising was for the party in the district to venture into transport business in order for the party to sustain its operations.
