Seven year old boy escapes crocodile attack

Kazungula, March 7, 2013,ZANIS—-A seven year old boy , Terry Sianga of Namukaba Primary School in Mandia ward in Kazungula has escaped death in a crocodile attack.

 

ZANIS reports that the reptile attacked the boy on his right leg as he walked along a stream that flows into the Zambezi river.

 

Mandia ward councilor Brighton Mwampole confirmed the development in Kazungula yesterday.

 

Mr. Mwampole said the boy was on his way back home from school between 18 and 19 hours when the incident happened and he was rescued by two men who were using the same route.

 

 Mr. Mwampole said that the boy was rushed to Katombola rural health centre where he is currently receiving medical attention and that his condition is out of danger.

 

Meanwhile, Mr. Mwampole said a similar incident happened recently in Mandia village where a young boy was also attacked by a crocodile and was rushed to Livingston General Hospital where he received medical treatment.

 

Mr. Mwampole has cautioned school going children using the crocodile infested stream to be careful.
