Chinese national appears for assault

A 37 year old Chinese national today appeared in the Siavonga magistrates court charged with assault.

 

Before magistrate Barthlomeo Kaonga was Jao Zhang an engineer at China Henani a Construction Company in Siavonga who stood charged with one count of assault.

 

Particulars of the offence are that on 18^th February, 2013 while in Siavonga district Zhang did assault Royd Hatawachi a worker at the same company by occasioning him actual bodily harm contrary to section 248 Cap 87 of the laws of Zambia.

 

Zhang is alleged to have assaulted Hatawachi by kicking him on his body after some misunderstanding while at work.

 

Zhang has denied the charge.

 

The matter comes up on 15^th March, 2013 for trial and the accused person is on police bond.
