Govt calls for hard work

Kalabo, March 3rd, 2013, ZANIS —-   Government has called for hard work from all its workforce in Kalabo  District .

Education Deputy Minister Nevelyn Wilombe says the PF government expects all its workers to cooperate and work hard to reduce poverty in the country.

Professor Wilombe emphasized that there was need for all government workers to work hard and help uplift the poverty levels in the country especially in the rural areas.

ZANIS reports that Professor Wilombe said this when he addressed government Heads of Departments [HODs] in Kalabo  District today.

Prof. Wilombe said that it was the duty and right of every worker to cooperate and work hard in the district in order to avert poverty and uplift the living standards of people.

He advised the HODs that they were holding their positions because they had capabilities to perform their duties in the district to reduce or remove poverty in Kalabo.

The Deputy Minister said that  although Zambia had gained her independence much earlier than some countries, the country has been surpassed by other countries that attained independence later.

He attributed this to lack of commitment to duty and hence the lack of change of the mind set as the main contributors to the development of the country.
