PF Govt. expects medical staff to exhibit highest professional standards – Chikusu

Mazabuka, February 16, ZANIS – Health  Deputy Minister Patrick Chikusu says the Patriotic Front(PF) Government expects nurses and other medical staff to exhibit highest professional standards in their duties.

Dr Chikusu says the PF government will not tolerate indiscipline and other bad vices in the health profession because it is in a hurry to improve health delivery services to the Zambians.

The Deputy Minister was speaking in Mazabuka yesterday when he called on Acting District Commissioner Wilson Siadunka.

He said government expects health personnel to fully implement the PF manifesto which spells out health as a critical factor in the country’s development efforts.

Dr Chikusu says there is need for change of attitude towards work by all health personnel because Zambians expect the best services.

He says Zambians need health workers who are kind, polite and committed to their work.

Dr Chikusu warned that government will deal harshly with staff found abusing patients.

The Deputy Minister who is on a tour of Health Institutions in the Southern Province has so far visited Monze and Mazabuka.
