Lands, Natural Resources and Environmental Protection deputy Minister, Danny Chingimbu has called on people in North-Western province to unite and support the Patriotic Front (PF) government’s development agenda.

Mr Chingimbu said people in the province should co-exist in peace and unity and support government’s development agenda in order profitably exploit the province’s vast economic potentials.

The Chingimbu, who is also Kabompo East (Manyinga) Member of Parliament, said this when he addressed meetings at Kamyanda and Mukosho primary schools in Manyinga district over the week-end.

He said that tribalism adversely affected efforts by the United National Independence Party (UNIP) and the Movement for Multi-party Democracy (MMD) regimes to develop the province because of tribal conflicts and divisions since independence.

Mr Chingimbu said now that the politically controversial tarring of the Mutanda-Chavuma road has been completed by the PF government, people in the province need to unite regardless of their ethnic grouping and focus their energies on developing the province.

He said the PF government is a pro-poor government that is determined to take development to all people in all districts in the country where people are united and focused.
