Mongu man kills wife, kid

Police in Western Province have arrested a 32-years-old man for killing his wife and his two-years-old son.

Police Public Relations Officer, Elizabeth Kanjela, told ZANIS in a press statement today that the man, identified as Mubiana Simunji, of Muleta village in Mongu, is accused of killing his wife and child after a dispute.

Ms Kanjela said Simunji is believed to have beaten up his wife using fists and kicks.

She said Simunji later dumped the two victims in the plain who later died after drowning.

Ms Kanjela said the woman has since been identified as Namakau Konga 25.

She stated that the suspect has since been arrested and investigations in the death are going on while the two bodies are lying in Lewanika General Hospital awaiting post-mortem and burial.
