Mafinga Member of Parliament, Catherine Namugala, has expressed ignorance about her reported from the opposition Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD).

Ms. Namugala said on Wednesday that the former party has not yet served her with a notice of expulsion.

She expressed surprise that the MMD held a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting where members reached a resolution to expel her from the party.

Reports in some section of the media have alleged that the MMD held a NEC meeting at Chrisma Hotel yesterday afternoon where members voted for the expulsion of the Mafinga legislator on grounds of gross misconduct and for bringing the name of the party into disrepute.

Ms. Namugala fell out of favour with embattled MMD president Nevers Mumba since expelled National Secretary Richard Kachingwe invalidated the presidency of Dr. Mumba after it emerged that he (Dr. Mumba) was still leader of the Reform Party.

The Mafinga MP has been calling for the removal of Dr. Mumba who she claimed has failed to lead the opposition party.
